It is my passion to provide more than something to be framed, or to be simply posted on some social media platform. I will give you pictures that can be FELT, an experience saved in time. Anyone can group together people and have them smile simultaneously; I am experienced in finding and saving those rare, tender moments by bringing to light my subject’s beautiful personalities and relationships. Since I was young I have always loved taking photos, constantly getting hounded by my father to give him his camera back (cause we didn’t have smart phones then). I have carried  this drive to pursue my passion throughout childhood well into adulthood.

 

I decided to attend Delaware College of Art and Design and graduated with honors acquiring my degree in Fine Art Photography. I wanted to really learn about photography and it’s roots, it was the only thing I found myself caring about. Spending our first year at school we focused on film photography; developing and creating our prints by hand in a dark room. Learning and practicing with film photography instilled in me how important it is to capture the moment as I couldn’t rely upon taking thousands pictures in the hopes of one coming out well. It taught me from the beginning to be consistently mindful of composition as I am looking at my subject, as well as always being keenly observant of what moments are truly special.

 

Then during a summer job I met the man of my dreams, who fueled this passion and began to share it with me. Driving me down all the backroads to find the best spots or places to take pictures. Even though we both prefer to be behind the camera, he has been my *very stubborn* model for many of my school photo projects. Now he is my husband, technical genius, and best friend.

 

Here at Sugarloaf Studios, you won’t receive a ‘best of the bunch’ group of photos, you will receive a handcrafted selection tailor-made for you. We are willing to climb mountains before sunrise, and drive miles to find the perfect field for sunset.
